Water Damage Restoration – Attic Copper Pipe Leak in San Jose, CA
Another completed project by United Water Damage Restoration in San Jose, CA — currently in progress. This job involved a sudden water leak caused by a pinhole failure in a copper elbow fitting located in the attic, a covered loss under the homeowner's insurance policy.
Our team responded quickly to assess the damage. Before any demolition began, we set up full containment barriers using plastic sheeting and zippered doorways to prevent cross-contamination and dust migration to unaffected areas of the home. Floors, stairs, and hallways were carefully protected with floor covering and tape to safeguard the homeowner's property throughout the process.
Using professional-grade moisture meters, thermal imaging cameras, and psychrometers, we mapped the full scope of water intrusion, confirming elevated moisture levels of 90%+ in affected wall cavities and ceilings. Affected drywall was opened to expose the leak source and allow proper drying access.
Industrial air movers and dehumidification equipment have been deployed to begin structural drying, ensuring no hidden moisture is left behind to cause mold growth or further damage.
Work is ongoing — stay tuned for updates as we move toward repair and reconstruction.
